In quite possibly the worst piece of film news this year it has been announced that there are plans for a sequel to the nineteen forty-seven classic It’s A Wonderful Life. Imaginatively titled It’s A Wonderful Life: The Rest Of The Story the film centres on the character of Zuzu (her of the petals) who is now an angel and has come down to Earth to aid her grandson George Bailey.
Why the original film needs a sequel is a mystery. The whole thing has disaster written all over it. At best it will be forgotten and at worst it will sully the reputation of the classic by association via the name. Karoyln Grimes who played Zuzu will reprise her role. No director or other cast details have been announced.
The film is scheduled for a 2015 release and we can only assume that this will be scheduled for maximum profit during the festive season. Joy!
