Now in its seventh year the Glasgow Youth Film Festival is the traditional opening act for the ever expanding Glasgow Film Festival. The GYFF is unique in that it the only film festival in Europe that is curated by fifteen to eighteen year olds. Over the course of three days the festival offers a wide variety of movies and events.
Kicking off the festival is the UK premiere of the Sci-Fi thriller, The Signal, starring Brenton Thwaites (Son Of A Gun), Olivia Cooke (Ouija, Bates Motel) and Laurence Fishburne. An impressive program of films follows over the next couple of days with the gala finale screening of Jumanji and Labyrinth taking place at the Barras Art and Design centre. At the same time there are a number of workshops that cover writing for film and TV, Film making and a Directing and acting masterclass.
The GYFF runs from the 6th to the 8th of February 2015. The details of the program of events can be found here
