It feels like it’s been ages since we had a good Frankenstein story on the big screen. Unless you count I, Frankenstein which I’m guessing many of you don’t. At least it tried something different but with Victor Frankenstein Paul McGuigan revisits the origins of the traditional story.
The director looks set to present a classic gothic vision of Mary Shelley’s timeless story with James McAvoy cast as the mad scientist. Daniel Radcliffe plays his assistant Igor with the monster kept mostly under wraps for now.
The movie sees a welcome return to cinema for McGuigan who has spent most of his time in TV since 2009’s criminally underrated Push. We may not need another telling of the Frankenstein story but this one promises to be a lot of fun.
Victor Frankenstein is due for release in November 2015.
