Just released is the first trailer for the much anticipated Top Gun Maverick. Tom Cruise made a surprise appearance at the 2019 San Diego Comic Con and brought with him the first trailer for a movie that has been the subject of much speculation over the years. The film sees Maverick as an older but clearly not any wiser pilot, who despite his exemplary service track record in aerial combat has not progressed through the ranks as he should have. We get the sense that he just loves the thrill of the ride too much to give it up for more responsibility and sitting behind a desk.
The trailer, though light on detail, is the perfect vehicle to get the fan base excited about the movie. Plenty of aerial footage from all angles an shots of Cruise powering along on a motorbike is exactly what people want to see in a top gun film. Joining Cruise is Miles Teller as baby Goose, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris and the return of Val Kilmer as the iconic Iceman.
Top Gun Maverick is scheduled for release on the 26th of June 2020
