Getting a release just in time for serious award consideration is the new film from the Coen Brothers. The film has been around for what seems like an age. It was premiered at Cannes in May and has been touring the festival circuit, picking up positive reviews, ever since.
The film tells the story of a week in the life of Llewyn Davis as he tries to pursue a solo career as a folk singer in Greenwich village, New York circa nineteen sixty-one. In the title role is up and coming actor Oscar Isaac best known for supporting roles in a variety of major films over the last couple of years. He is joined by Carey Mulligan as his love interest of sorts, Justin Timberlake, John Goodman and Garret Hedlund.
There is always a certain amount of buzz when a new Coen Brothers film is released and this looks like another stellar entry into their already impressive filmography.
The film gets a general release on 20th December in the US and 24th January in the UK.
