As well as having a successful career as an actor, Joel Edgerton has now stepped behind the camera to direct his first feature film, The Gift. The film tells the tale of Simon (Jason Bateman) and Robyn (Rebecca Hall). They are a happily married couple who’s lives are thrown into chaos after the chance meeting with Gordo (Joel Edgerton), an old high school friend of Simon. After a series of seemingly random encounters and weird gifts it becomes apparent to Robyn that something dark happened between Gordo and Simon during their formative years.
The film is produced by Jason Blum who was behind Whiplash and The Purge films. The Gift will be in cinemas on the 7th of August.
