Coming next month on Showtime in the US is the drama series Roadies. What makes this special is that it comes from the pen of Cameron Crowe. Although he has been slated for his output in the last couple of years it cannot be denied that the man knows and seriously loves his music. You just have to look at the fantastic Almost Famous, his semi autobiographical film about a young writer on the road with an up and coming rock band.
For Roadies he returns to the world of the band tour but this time focusses on the people who make the magic happen for a band on the road. As with all of Crowe’s work there is an impressive cast involved in the series. Luke Wilson stars and is supported by Imogen Poots, Carla Gugino and Rafe Spall.
Roadies débuts on Showtime on the 26th of June and will most likely be shown on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
