The hugely popular Sharknado series has taken the world by storm (sorry) injecting some much needed fun into shark films. The Shallows looks to instill some horror back into the genre as Blake Lively tackles a great white.
Stranded 200 yards from shore, Nancy (Lively) finds herself on the menu of the fearsome predator. With little resources and her life on a timer, Nancy engages in a battle of wills as she fights for survival.
Questionable CGI and gratuitous bikini shots aside, The Shallows looks to be taking itself seriously and could turn out to be a thrilling and tense tale.
If it does little to satiate your appetite, there’s always Sharknado4: The 4th Awakens to look forward to in July.
