Vin Diesel To Return In xXx Sequel

Before the Fast and Furious franchise got brilliant absurd, Vin Diesel was laying the groundwork in 2002’s xXx as an adrenaline junkie turned government agent. When Diesel dropped out of the 2005 sequel along with original director Rob Cohen, Ice Cube was cast with Lee Tamahori directing. It bombed critically and commercially.

Proving that Hollywood never knows when to leave sleeping dogs lie, Vin Diesel returns as Xander Cage in the aptly named xXx: The Return of Xander Cage. The teaser trailer doesn’t give too much away in terms of plot, however it does promise loads of ludicrously gratuitous action, stunts, ladies and Diesel.

D.J. Caruso replaces Tamahori as director with the film set for a January 2017 release.
