Johnny Mnemonic Gets A Re-Release

Marking the 25th anniversary of the release of Johnny Mnemonic, the film is getting an HD release on digital platforms. The film was a box office hit and home entertainment favourite ever since. The film is also notable as the first movie adaptation of the work of legendary cyberpunk pioneer William Gibson. The film is packed with slam-bang action, dazzling visuals, and wild, prophetic technical innovations. It’s a hugely enjoyable, unforgettable slice of 90s sci-fi cinema that will fill a gap until we get to see Reeves return as Neo in The Matrix 4.

The story is set in the 21st century where the information superhighway has developed so far that cyberspace is the norm for all business and personal dealings. Information has become so important that to shield the most delicate files from cyberspace hackers, the data is transported in the heads of Mnemonic couriers. Johnny (Keanu Reeves) is the best of the bunch, but this time the raw data he carries is so sensitive that he is being pursued by many interested parties, and his failure to deliver the information will hand him the ultimate lateness penalty.

Supporting Reeves and his 80GB brain storage capacity is Dolph Lundgren, Udo Keir, Henry Rollins, Takeshi Kitano and Icet-T. The film will be available on digital platforms from the 10th of May.
